Bauhaus & Geometric
The Bauhaus lasted fourteen years, from Weimar (1919) to Berlin (1933, closed by the Nazis). Quietly, the school rewrote the rules of twentieth-century graphic design. The grid, the circle-square-triangle, primary colours used as logical flat fields. All of today's visual systems (IKEA, Helvetica, airport pictograms) come from it. These Bauhaus posters capture that spirit.
Our selection brings together the compositions that work best in interiors: Paul Klee's colour exercises, the covers of the journal Bauhaus, Herbert Bayer's posters, Moholy-Nagy's photograms. Plus a few pieces of contemporary neo-Bauhaus, for those who want something sharper.
